OUR STORY

The Sweet Escape Bakery was established in May 2017 by Stephanie Cocozzelli. The Sweet Escape Bakery started in the kitchen of Waverly Deli in Holtsville! Stephanie graduated from SUNY Delhi with a Bachelors in Hotel & Resort Management in 2015. After graduation she decided to help run her father's deli in Holtsville, NY! She didn't find her passion for baking until 2015 when she began baking banana bread, cheesecakes & cakes for the deli! By 2017 she began expanding her creations & found a LOVE(obsession) for French Macarons! She bought the deli in 2017 in hopes to grow her bakery business & hopefully open her own bakery one day! In 2018, Stephanie gave birth to her first child Avery Elizabeth! During this time, she took a break from baking to raise her daughter!

By 2019, she hoped to open up her own shop and potentially sell the deli. Her Husband Frank quit his job to help run the deli so Stephanie could focus on growing the business while he took care of running the deli. By March 2020 she gave birth to her second child Anthony Frank. Right before he was born they found a location for the bakery in Mt. Sinai and were waiting until after giving birth to sign the lease. Two days after her son was born, the pandemic had began. They decided it would be best to not open a brand new business during the began of pandemic, so her dreams were put on hold yet again.

In July 2020, she heard that a bakery in Bayport had just went out of business. Stephanie & Frank signed the lease that week & Frank and Stephanie's father began renovating the store!

The Sweet Escape Bakery officially opened it's door in November 2020, specializing in French Macarons, Cheesecakes, Cake Pops, Assorted Cookies, Linzer Tarts, Brownies, Cakes & so much more! They only use the highest quality products & sell delicious fresh unique treats! Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

"When you buy from a small business, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lesson, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a dad pay a mortgage or a student pay for college"
